Post-processing for the In-love

by Edj - Tuesday, December 20, 2016

Ilka & Jhunz ♥ April 09, 2016

Many people come to me asking me if I could be their photographer and at often time I would always say no. Because I have no confidence in my skills yet and because I only own a humble Canon 1100D with 50mm lens. So, this article isn't about my photography style. It's about my post-processing style. After attending a photo-editing class last July 2014, my confidence rose a little bit higher.

Our Secret Garden

by Edj - Monday, February 16, 2015

Zaien whilst eating apple in the middle of the garden

Spring time, where most of the flowers comes to its full bloom. Hubby's grandma is in love with gardening. She just turned 95 years old last Wednesday (April 16, 2014) but she still manages to take care of her garden hands-on without any assistant! I've never been in a house with such wide garden. She's a bit eccentric in a good way (I think their whole bloodline are).

When I first came to their house, I saw a label outside with his father's name with a doctor psychiatrist below. I then saw the Nature Sanctuary below it and I asked hubby why's that. He said that's his grandma's garden. I laughed at first but as I entered the gate, her huge garden welcomed me. My first thought was their house is like inside a mini forest.

Yellow flower

Pink Hibiscus

I am not fond of flowers, plants and fruits so I can't really name them at all. The flowers above are just two among her collection of flowers. Those were just along the pathway so it made it easy for me to take a photo of them.

Zaien watching at the cute yellow flower

Ariane holding a yellow balloon

Her grandma despite her age, have memorized how many flowers have bloomed or how many fruits have her plants blossomed so if you plan to pick a flower or a fruits, be sure to ask permission first. Well, that was what I was told when I asked my hubby if I could pick that one Atis fruit hanging above me.

Inside our secret garden

Not everyone could maintain a huge garden in their homes such as this one. Even our (my parent's) house don't have a garden, we only have a couple of plants in front of the house. This is an amazing hobby to maintain. It is astonishing indeed. Only a few people could get to be in their garden making it Our Secret Garden.

CCC Acoustic Band

by Edj - Friday, September 12, 2014

With my band members

Hi! Didn't I tell you that I knew how to play a guitar? I just know the basics though, not really the hardcore fingering stuff.

I joined a band. Well, it wasn't really a "joined a band" thing but rather, I auditioned for an acoustic band contest together with my office-mates in our department. I got chosen as one of the guitarists - which shocked me, I wasn't expecting that - of that acoustic band to represent our company in a inter-company Friendship Game Competition.

I wasn't the one who took those photos. I just post-processed them, hence, I want you to see our costumes tehee~. Our manager said he wanted us to package as highschoolers. So there goes our photos, please enjoy.

Our vocalists

The Guitarists: Me as Rhythm with our Lead Guitarist

Our Maracas and Beatbox players

We got the 2nd place. Although we didn't win, it was already a big achievement for us starters. And to be able to compete with the seniors is such an honor already. I am really proud of us... and to myself.

Zaien's Nursery Graduation

by Edj - Sunday, April 20, 2014

Nursery Culminating Activity 2014

My 4 year old baby has just graduated from Nursery last April 8, 2014. I'm so proud of him! He's the youngest of this batch. We enrolled him when he was still 3 and a half years old in De La Salle ASMC. He was always telling us that he wants to go to school but the school only accepts 4 turning 5 year olds in kindergarten. We said we could let him try to take the entrance test and if he passes it's up for the school to decide... and yes, he was able to pass the entrance test.

Zaien's grades in English were not that grade but he got excellent marks in both Science and Math. I'm guessing he took it from both his grandpas. I was afraid that he might not be able to pass nursery because he failed one English exam. But his teacher told us that he is performing well despite his age and that he can compete with his classmates who are a year or 2 older than him. She said in his age it's quite amazing that he can have perfect scores in Science and Math. Actually, every time I tutor him he tells me that he hates letters and that we should just move to numbers instead. And enough with this let's move on to the graduation. :D

The eyebrows lol

The nursery cuties have prepared a presentation per class. They wore the uniforms of the Priests & Nuns, Sailormen & Sailorwomen, Nurses & Doctors, New Yorkers, and Pilots & Stewardesses. If you want to see my son's presentation, click here.

Presentation per class

After the presentation number was the singing of the graduation and the De La Salle Alma Mater song.

Hail to thee our Alma Mater, Hail Hail Hail!

The graduation ceremony has ended, it's time for the pictorials with the graduate.

So busy playing with the phone

Forced smile

He said he's already tired smiling hihi

He was forcing his papa to show his teeth

A photo with his teacher, Madam Caliguid

He was already tired and wanted to go home so excuse his about-to-cry face. :D

Booth pictorial

Joecel Photostudio held an affordable photo booth at their classroom. We took the chance. They were also the ones whom I let my graduation photo be taken with. Very affordable and excellent services. They don't make a lot of edits on your face unlike other cheap photo studios which would make your face so unlike you. You might want to get their services. They are just near USC Main.

Planned to but jump shots with them are never successful

And of course, my outfit for the rainy day.

My outfit of the day

Sheer blouse & footwear: Natasha
Skater skirt: Pre-order @ Mary
Neon pink umbrella: Avon

Seashell Sunday

by Edj - Tuesday, April 08, 2014

They searched seashells by the seashore

This weekend my son and my hubby's little sister, two of my favorite subjects spent the whole day playing with a tiny pink container. I was wondering why they were so absorbed at that container. As I went near them to investigate, my son turned to me and exclaimed "Mama sheesholls!" I peeked on the container. Ah so that's why they were so busy. I grinned and said, "It's seashells. Seashells."

Looking at the pink container

Observing the shells

Throwing 'unwanted' stones away

I asked the cuties to pose for me while they were near the fallen tree.

No, she didn't chop down that tree but I bet she can

Ariane's shy smile

Ariane is such a sweet little lady

My son, Zaien's awkward smile

Zaien seated at the fallen tree by the seashore

Those shells hanging by the branches were already placed there, I'm guessing their neighbors' children use that chopped tree as their playground. It added art to that scenery.

Feeling model lol

Hubby also wanted a shot, so okay... chance!

They're planning on what to do with the shells lol

Picking stones

These four-year-olds have vivid imaginations. I believe talking to them is a stress reliever.

Betting on their own shells who can cross the finish line first

My son is pretty scared of holding the shell with his bare hands so he was just satisfied by watching them from a distance. He seldom goes to the beach. Sea creatures either delight or frighten him.

"Go win the race!"

By the end of the day, we returned the seashells back to the beach to go home to their parents. They were saying that their mama and papa is already looking for their children haha.
